  2. Click Continue.
  3. Select the boot drive from the Hard Drive(s) section. Application displays the Create Bootable DMG dialog box.
  4. Click Continue.
  5. Application displays the Create Bootable DVD dialog box.
  6. Click Create Image button.
  7. Select destination and click Choose to save StellarBootPartition.dmg
  8. After successful image creation, double click on the created image to mount it.
  9. Connect an external media to your system and open Disk Utility from '/Applications/Utilities'.
  10. Format the connected external media in 'Mac OS Extended (journaled) with 'GUID Partition Table' Partition Map Scheme'.
  11. Choose mounted image from left panel of Disk Utility and select Restore tab.
  12. Drag and drop the mounted image to source and press Restore.
  13. Now, you can use your external media to boot your system after successful Restore.
You can create a bootable media of a saved DMG image file using Stellar Partition Manager software. You can use the bootable media or USB to perform any operation of Stellar Partition Manager on boot partition or other partitions of your Mac.

Requirements for creating a bootable media are:

  • A blank USB
  • A Mac OS X

For creating the bootable DVD using Stellar Partition Manager software, do the following:

  1. Connect an empty USB or any other low capacity media to your system.
  2. Click Go and then click Utilities. Select Disk Utility to open Disk Utility window.
  3. Format the connected media, locate & select StellarBootPartition.dmg file and click Restore button.
  4. After successfully restore, Stellar Partition Manager software will be ready to use.

You can boot your Mac using the bootable media in three ways. They are as follows:

  • Press C Key Method - Use 'C' keyboard button to start the system from bootable media.

To run your Mac using the bootable media using C option:

  1. Insert Stellar Partition Manager bootable media to the system.
  2. Restart your Mac.
  3. Keep the C key pressed. Mac will boot from bootable media or USB.
  4. Stellar Partition Manager License Agreement screen appears on startup.

Click I Agree to continue.

  • System Preferences Option - You can use this option to start your Mac using the DVD drive. This option changes the startup disk of your Mac.

Note: Changing the startup disk means changing the boot preference of your Mac . This option requires that operating system should be working properly.

To change the boot preferences using System Preferences option:

  1. Click Apple icon and select System Preferences to open System Preferences window.
  2. Connect Stellar Partition Manager bootable media.
  3. Under System pane, select Startup Disk. All the available Mac start up booting options such as, DVD drive, Hard Drive are displayed.
  4. Select desired bootable drive option.
  5. Click Restart.
  6. Stellar Partition Manager License Agreement screen appears on startup.

Click I Agree to continue.
Stellar Partition Manager application window appears automatically.

 

  • Keyboard Option key - Users can change the startup disk by using the keyboard's Option key such that all the available booting options are displayed when the Mac starts.

To use the option key to change the startup disk:

  1. Connect Stellar Partition Manager bootable media to the Mac machine. Restart your Mac.
  2. Press Option key.
  3. All available Mac start up booting options such as, DVD Drive, Hard Drive are displayed.
  4. Select the Hard drive option to boot your Mac using the connected media.

Stellar Partition Manager License Agreement appears on Mac startup. Click I Agree to continue. Stellar Partition Manager application window appears automatically.

You can set the preferences of Stellar Partition Manager according to your personal requirement.

To set preferences for customizing Stellar Partition Manager as per your requirement, follow the step given below:

  1. Run Stellar Partition Manager.
  2. Click Continue.
  3. On StellarPartitionManager menu, click Preferences option.
  4. To change general preferences, click General tab.
To change monitoring preferences, click Monitoring tab.
